Greg Simpson digs Revos. Who doesn’t? But this is the second decked-out Revo Greg has built and submitted to Reader’s Rides this year, and with this one—nicknamed “Wicked”—he took it up a notch, starting with a bare chassis—which he had chrome plated. Then he built the truck part by part up from that chassis, adding a bunch of aluminum parts from Integy—shock mounts, engine mount, wing mount, and the steering mount—for both strength and style. He also added a full set of skidplates to protect the blinged out chassis. RPM arms and axle carriers beef up the suspension. He had the engine sleeve ported and polished, shaved the crank, installed a Davis Diesel connecting rod, and a full set of Boca bearings to take the extra revs. An oversized Losi 3.4 carb helps it breathe up top, and he protects that hopped-up power plant from debris with an oversized air filter from Motor Saver. It rolls on SRC belted street tires and Greg had the body custom-painted by Jason Forbes of Forbes Custom RC.
