The Radio Control Expo 2023 (RCX) took over the Fairplex in Pomona, California, on March 18 and 19, 2023, drawing in an impressive attendance of well over 15,000 RC and off-road enthusiasts and more than 400 vendors, vehicle and booth displays. The event was held in conjunction with the California Overland Adventure & Power Sports Expo, making for an exciting weekend for all involved.
RCX is a must-see event for anyone interested in radio-controlled cars, trucks, planes, boats, drones and more. Attendees were able to see the latest and greatest products from top RC manufacturers including Traxxas, Redcat Racing, FMS Model, Pit Bull RC, Gens Ace and others. There were also exciting demonstrations and hands-on activities that allowed showgoers to test out new RC products for themselves.
A few great highlights at RCX were the various tracks set up for RC cars and trucks. Tracks included a Traxxas bash-worthy try-me track where Traxxas provided drivers with trucks to bash about, Rock Pirates RC created a series of technical crawler obstacles, Redcat Racing along with Gens Ace provided a drift track, and FMS Model hosted a small-scale crawler course that was as challenging as it was fun. There was even a large monster truck demo area complete with jumps and other features hosted by SoCal Monster Trucks. Attendees were able to watch skilled RC drivers tackle the courses as well as try them out for themselves.
Another popular aspect of the event was all the action happening outside, where there was a large airfield available for pilots to take flight. We saw scale prop planes, jets, stunt flyers, the latest in drones, and even got live demonstrations from Wing, the leading drone delivery service. Watching the RC aircraft flying about was a thrilling experience for both pilots and spectators alike.
If getting a good deal on your favorite RC products is your thing, you’d be glad to know that plenty of offers were being dished out in the vendor area. Vendors such as Reefs RC, Pegasus Hobbies and others were on hand offering great deals on the latest in RC kits and parts. That’s not all; there were plenty of other sights to see, including the latest in real-life off-road, overland, and power sports, too.
Overall, the RCX event was a huge success, drawing in thousands of attendees over the course of the weekend and showcasing the latest and greatest in the world of radio-controlled vehicles. With so much excitement and innovation on display, it’s no wonder that RCX is considered one of the premier RC events of the year. We hope to see you there next year!
