With its Ford-licensed body and intricately molded replica components, this truck dials up the scale authenticity factor to the max. Beneath the exterior lies the brutal power of the Velineon brushless system and a rugged 4WD driveline, ensuring that the Raptor R doesn’t just look the part, but performs admirably too.

The ready to run truck also comes with larger diameter licensed BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires that are a full 5mm taller than your standard Slash tires. Other than performance enhancing reasons for the upgrade, the larger tires simulate the full-size Raptor R’s larger 37” tires. How’s that for attention to detail? The tires are mounted to replica Ford optional beadlock-style wheels and still have a standard 2.2” outer diameter.

At the beach
To put the Traxxas Ford Raptor R to the ultimate test, we took it to the beach for some sand and water antics. Seeking peak performance, we equipped the Raptor R with Traxxas’ optional paddle tires. It was a quick and easy swap thanks to the tires being pre-mounted and glued to the wheels. Needless to say, it was a sensational experience as we unleashed the truck’s power, tearing through the sand and making waves in the water.
