JConcepts VLog – January 2022 Events With Jason & Hannah [VIDEO]

From JConcepts:
Jason sits down with Hannah to discuss a few recent events we attended to kick off the 2022 racing season.

First up was the 35th annual Midwest Championships. For the last 35 years, the RC racing world has kicked off the new year with the CRCRC MidWest Championships at the Ohio RC Factory. Located in Jeffersonville Ohio, racers from all over the country flock to this event to see where they stack up in the 1:10 scale realm. The Ohio RC Factory has been run by long-time owner Curt Schlichter. With nearly 350 entries the competition was stiff, but everyone was eager to prove themselves out on the track. This was a 5-day event with two days of practice, seeding, 4 rounds of qualifying, and triple A-Mains.

Next we headed to Alabama for the Southern Indoor Championships. As we entered the 2nd week of the New Year it came time to attend our first 1:8 scale race. After a successful 2022 1:10 scale debut the week prior, we were ready to bring our A-game at the Southern Indoor Championship. We arrived at the track early on Thursday morning, ready to set up and get to work. The race weekend went as follows: Practice on Friday, Qualifying on Saturday, and Mains on Sunday. The RC Trackmasters crew worked hard to create a fun layout that was very Motocross-inspired. The main feature of this track was the rhythm section aka the “double-double double-double.” The rumble section in the back proved to be one of the more challenging sections and as the weekend went on the straightaway became very rutted also proving to be a challenge.

Lastly it was a trip out to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the annual RC Chili Bowl. Another great Scotty Ernst event.
