Flashback: RC Thunderdrome, The Ultimate Oval Race [VIDEO]

Back in the late 80s-early 90s glory days of RC’s first big boom, oval racing was a way more prominent part of the hobby. And if you wanted to go fast and turn left, your dream destination was Lake Whippoorwhill International Speedway. Just look at this place! The concrete oval was home to the legendary RC Thunderdrome and the Insane Speed Run, and as you can see, these guys were not messing around. And remember, they’re doing it all with brushed motors and batteries you would laugh at today.
