To honor Bertha Benz, Duracell strapped 144 rechargeable batteries (maybe these?) into what appears to be a Schumacher Big 6 to cover 106.9 kilometers (66.4 miles) on a single charge. We’re guessing those cells were wired up as twenty-four 6-cell packs that were then wired in parallel to create what was essentially a single 7.2 volt, 52,800mAh battery. Glad we didn’t have to solder that bad boy together. In addition to giving ol’ Berha her due, they ended up breaking a world record: “greatest distance by a battery powered radio controlled model car on a single charge.” Take that, Energizer bunny.
