Vaterra Goes Kit With DIY Twin Hammers

Jul 03, 2014 No Comments by

Vaterra offers a wide lineup of vehicles, from touring cars and  rock racers to rally rigs and  monster trucks. All very different, but until now, all were the same in one important way: they’re all RTRs. No more: with the Twin Hammers now offered as a kit, Vaterra is officially in the DIY business. All the Twin Hammers RTR features are in place for the kit version, minus radio gear, power system, and battery of course. This isn’t just a disassembled RTR Twin Hammers, however; for the kit car, Vaterra has bumped up the specs to include front and rear sway bars, threaded aluminum shocks, metal transmission gears, and replica Interco Super Swamper tires…among other mods. Look for the Twin Hammers kit to arrive this month to the tune of about $300. Looks hot, we’ll definitely “Online Build” this guy!

Official Vaterra jazz after the pics (and there’s a video in there too).

The Twin Hammers kit builds on the successful Twin Hammers platform and adds in upgraded parts so that you can finish the customized platform with your own ESC and motor system. The kit offers included upgrades over the standard Twin Hammers RTR, such as Interco TSL SX Super Swamper Tires with Dual Stage Memory Foam inserts. Also included is a three piece wheel that has integrated weights inside the tire section for better crawling. The optional sway bars front and rear (3 rates each) are included, plus metal gears and metal hexes. The body panels are flat to allow people to run aftermarket LED light bars.

The Twin Hammers 1.9 Rock Racer sports aggressive styling; superior performance, outstanding features, and impressive durability that make it stand out from other vehicles in the market.

  • Shift from speed to crawling with the push of a button on the transmitter.
  • Aggressive style, durable and realistic performance.
  • Ready to finish platform gives the customer the opportunity to completely customize.
  • Licensed scale details like Interco Super Swamper tires and GenRight decals.
