RC Car Action - RC Cars & Trucks | Cavalieri Joins Associated

Cavalieri Joins Associated

Longtime Losi racer and podium regular Ryan Cavalieri will be making the switch to the A-Team for the remainder of the 05’ season. Pudge will run both gas and electric cars for Associated, but no change-ups are planned in the power department: he's sticking with Trinity motors and batteries and Sirio engines. Ryan's racing schedule should be booked pretty solid, as he is also running an Inferno 777 for Kyosho. Associated, Trinity, Sirio, Kyosho...that’s a lot of T-shirts to pack.

Team Losi Sweeps IFMAR Off-Road World Championships!

Team Losi Sweeps IFMAR Off-Road World Championships!

Team Losi drivers made history at the 2002 IFMAR Off-Road World Championships taking the top qualifying position and finishing first and second in both the 2WD and 4WD classes. This year’s event, held in Pretoria, South Africa, marks the first time a single RC car manufacturer has won and TQ’d every class at the most prestigious off-road event in the world. Matt Francis and his Trinity-powered Team Losi Triple-X4 prototype and Triple-X buggies took the top qualifying positions in both 4WD and 2WD, and Matt went on to win the 2WD class with teamate Brian Kinwald in tow. Jukka Steenari, the 2000 IFMAR 4WD champ and Team Losi’s newest engineer, repeated as the 4WD World Champion using Orion power. Matt was a close second in a race that saw Team Losi cars finish 1-2-3-4-5-7-9, and overall, more A-Main finalists at the Worlds used Team Losi cars than all other manufactures combined.

Congratulations to Team Losi, and stay tuned for reports from the IFMAR On-Road Worlds soon!

XRAY drivers Burch and Dumas take 1st and 2nd at Novak TC Champs

XRAY drivers Burch and Dumas take 1st and 2nd at Novak TC Champs

Ralph Burch TQ'ed and won the hotly-contested modified touring class at the Novak US Touring Car Championships held at Trackside Hobbies in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Burch and XRAY teammate Mike Dumas were both driving new XRAY T1 Factory cars equipped with a few "in-development" prototype parts. New Epic 9-turn Cobalt modified motors using the Trinity XXX Silver brushes were reportedly used for power in both cars with Burch sporting SMC and Dumas running EPIC batteries. A straw poll of those who attended the race showed that XRAY cars were very popular for a significant portion of the field, including many privateers. There was also a common theme in the comments about the big horsepower of the EPIC Cobalt motors used to power the top two cars - more than a few racers in attendance said these new motors were the class of the field.

Tosolini, Cyrul Score At ROAR Carpet Nats

Chris Tosolini drove his SMC-powered, Fantom-motor Yokomo into the 1/10 Sedan Modified winner's circle at the ROAR On-Road Carpet Nationals. Chris TQ'd the class, ripping up Ripon Speedways Ozite with a blistering 24/5:11.45 run, but only won one of the triple A-Mains (Trinity's Paul Lemieux and Associated's Mike Dumas won the other rounds). But it's all about the points, and Tos had 'em.

Trinity's Josh Cyrul was the big winner in 1/12 Mod, besting Barry Baker and Mike Blackstock. Josh went into the Mains as top-qualifier with 41/8:07.73, and sat out the third main after winning the first two.

In the Nats other classes, Travis Schreven won Stock Touring, TJ Bradley took down the win in 1/12 4-cell stock with SMC power, and David Lee won the 1/12 Masters race, also with SMC cells.
