On-Road Upset!

On-Road Upset!

Tamiya earned its first-ever World Championship title thanks to Thailand’s fast (and unpronounceable) Surikarn Chaidajsuriya, who drove his Reedy-powered TRF 414M II to third, second, and first-place finishes in the three A-Mains to win the title(which makes a staggering 24 IFMAR Worlds victories for Reedy power). Barry Baker, Billy Easton and Chris Tosolini were the Americans in the show, which saw Barry TQ with his TC3. He could have won it all, but Barry damaged his car in a crash during the final laps of the third Main.

In 1/12 scale, Masami Hirosaka proved he still has the World Champ mojo by TQing the class and winning the first two A-Mains. This earned Masami the right to sit out the third Main as the rest of the field battled for the lower podium steps.
