Tosolini and Cyrul take top spots at ROAR Gas Nats

Team Kyosho factory driver Josh Cyrul used his TQ spot on the grid to charge out in front at the start of the 60 minute Open Class A-main. Cyrul immediately developed a rhythm and left his competitors in his smoke. Cyrul lead the entire race and crossed the line with a cushy 3 lap lead. His teammates Walter Diaz and Joel Figues finished in second and third respectively. All three drivers were piloting Kyosho V1 Triple-R WC sedans. Team Serpent's Chris Tosolini wheeled his brand new 720 into the winners circle after battling with Mugen drivers Mike Swauger and Darin Ishitani for the entire 60 minutes. The three drivers swapped positions throughout the race and finished on the same lap. Ishitani took second and Swauger claimed third. Look for full online coverage soon!

XRAY drivers Burch and Dumas take 1st and 2nd at Novak TC Champs

Ralph Burch TQ'ed and won the hotly-contested modified touring class at the Novak US Touring Car Championships held at Trackside Hobbies in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Burch and XRAY teammate Mike Dumas were both driving new XRAY T1 Factory cars equipped with a few "in-development" prototype parts. New Epic 9-turn Cobalt modified motors using the Trinity XXX Silver brushes were reportedly used for power in both cars with Burch sporting SMC and Dumas running EPIC batteries. A straw poll of those who attended the race showed that XRAY cars were very popular for a significant portion of the field, including many privateers. There was also a common theme in the comments about the big horsepower of the EPIC Cobalt motors used to power the top two cars - more than a few racers in attendance said these new motors were the class of the field.

Cav takes two at Pro-Line Maxx Challenge

Over 200 racers attended the 2006 Pro-Line Nitro Maxx Challenge and the competition was fierce in all 5 racing classes. Team Associated/Kyosho factory driver Ryan Cavalieri finished first in both the 1/10 Gas Truck and 1/8 Buggy classes, but they achievement didn’t come easy; he snuck past OFNA/Jammin driver Chad Bradley on the last lap of the Buggy A-main and finished on the same lap as Cody King in Gas Truck. Bradley TQ’d the Outlaw Class and his teammate Taylor James scored the first place finish. Mike Battaile won the Small Block class with his Traxxas Revo and Kenny Johnson came out on top of the Big Block class with his Associated Monster GT. See more pics and talk about it here.

Ryan flying at Losi Champs

Ryan flying at Losi Champs

The 4th annual Team Losi Off-Road Championships was hosted by the Minnreg RC Club in Tampa FL, but it may may as well have been called Cavalieriville. Ryan dominated the event by TQing and winning all the Factory electric classes with his Trinity-powered Associated rides. Cavalieri's Sirio-equipped RC10GT was the truck to beat in the Factory Nitro Truck class, but he gave up the win to Team Losi's Adam Drake after Adam exploited his Triple-XNT’s quick-change wheel feature to move into the lead with fresh rubber as Ryan’s GT slowed due to worn tires.
