THE LMT

King Sling is a solid-axle truck that is designed to combine all-out monster truck performance with incredible scale detail. The LMT chassis features a twin vertical plate layout that allows for numerous performance adjustments to suit your preferences. The chassis can also accommodate various shock setups to ensure the truck stays on track even on the most challenging terrain.

The King Sling is engineered with large-scale components to guarantee impressive performance on and off the track. Its 1/8-scale drivetrain is larger than usual and features multi-piece axle housings, which add to the truck’s durability. The LMT comes with an easily accessible center transmission that includes a center differential, allowing for quick changes with an optional spool for wheel-standing action. For true monster truck fans, four-wheel steering capability is available as an option.

The LMT also has a fluid-filled center differential that allows for performance tuning with added protection from torque-damping Cush Drive. Cush Drive is a rubber elastomer system that minimizes the shock on the drivetrain from the high impact forces of the motor and big landings, resulting in a durable and reliable drivetrain.

Monster trucks ride high in part because of their tall suspension, as well as tall wheels and tires. Likewise, the LMT’s coilover shocks have long travel and are equipped with rubber bump stops, which provide excellent damping and handling properties. These specialized shocks and springs are specifically designed to be mounted directly to the truck’s axle housings, providing both optimal performance and a realistic appearance.

The tires on this monster truck stand at 6.25 inches and boast an aggressive tractor tread designed to provide maximum traction in muddy conditions. The wheels are coated in chrome and include a replaceable center hub for added strength and longevity.

King Sling is powered by a 4S LiPo battery-capable Spektrum Firma Smart 130 Amp ESC and 3668 2800kV WP 4-pole brushless motor. This power combination allows the truck to unleash plenty of speed and power around the mud bogs. A dependable Spektrum DX3 transmitter and a SR315 DSMR 3-Channel Sport Receiver, which comes with the RTR set, control this monster truck. The truck’s chassis is accessed via a composite flip-top cage that adds scale realism and protection. It’s functional too, allowing easy access to the LMT’s battery and electronics.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

The real King Sling’s body is based on a 1941 Willys truck and this scale replica is no different. Looking just like its bigger cousin, this 21-inch-long RC monster truck is a spitting image of the original if we’ve ever seen one. Extra scale details like exhaust headers and LED headlights help to complete the truck’s scale look so it looks even more like the real thing.

LET’s GO MUDDIN’

We strapped a Spektrum LiPo battery into the LMT’s Losi elastomer battery mounting system for secure installation of the battery. This stretchable battery strap allows for the use of a wide variety of battery shapes and sizes. After getting a feel for the truck on a relatively flat loose-dirt surface, we let King Sling rip.

The monster truck behaved just as expected, performing wheelies, tumbling around, and providing a thrilling driving experience. We had a blast driving the King Sling and kicked up a lot of mud during our bash session. Although we didn’t make any adjustments initially, it’s worth noting that the LMT chassis can be finely tuned if necessary.
