Further Description/Back Story | After building a few raise / lower chassis I wondered if the "easy" way to achieve the look I wanted for "Casper" would be to use the Redcat Racing '64 RTR chassis/radio system. I knew I wanted something different that a lexan option, so I looked to RC4WD for body options. Looking to build a crew cab/extended bed body I grafted a couple K5 Blazer bodies and added 1" to the bed. I 3D printed the cab closeout and used styrene for the bed close out and servo controlled hinged tonneau cover. I knew it wouldn't fit the chassis so I stretched the chassis 5.5" and narrowed the chassis 1/4" per side, trimmed the wheel wells a bit for the fit shown in the photos. I also 3D printed the Phantom grill and front and rear bumpers. |
