Further Description/Back Story | I started to develop this truck about 6 years ago. I always wanted to have a 1/16 scale Mini E-Maxx but traxxas never released one. So I decided to build one myself. I had created a couple versions but always hoped to one day be able to design one properly on my computer and be able to 3d print it. About 4 months ago i decided I was going to finish my project and do it the way I always wanted to. So after hundreds of hours of development, designing the parts, printing the parts, testing them and then repeating the process over and over again. I was able to create the vehicle I had in my head from the start.
The Chassis, upper and lower, front and rear arms, bumper supports, shock towers, reciever cover, front, rear, and center skid are all 3d printed either using a Carbon Fiber infused nylon (NylonX) or a nylon material. The center chassis braces are made of aluminum that i hand cut and then filed to size and shape, and then polished. I used the stock front and rear diffs, trans, and front and rear bumpers from a traxxas 1/16 summit. The body mounts are from a latrax teton and the shocks are the GTR shocks also for the latrax teton. Mixed in some aftermarket upgrade parts and this is my creation. And I am very happy with it. |
