Basher’s BSR Racing Brand Goes 4WD With New BZ-444

Basher’s BSR Racing Brand Goes 4WD With New BZ-444

HobbyKing got our attention when it packed a lot of race-worthy features into the low-buck Basher BSR BZ-222 2WD buggy (reviewed in our June 2015 issue), and now Basher’s “BSR Racing” sub-brand has a 4WD buggy to go with the two-wheeler. Unlike the BZ-222, which is offered in kit, ARTR and RTR versions, the BZ-444 is RTR only–at least for now. Specs-wise, the four wheeler isn’t quite as high-zoot as the BZ-222, and sticks with a plastic chassis and shocks where the 2WD car gets aluminum. However, it does spec a better power system than the BZ-222, with a Trackstar 80A speed control and sensored 10.5T motor combo. You also get a much nicer HK-GT2E  full-size transmitter instead of the BZ-222’s mini-pistol. The price? $200 in the US. Look for a track test soon!

Latest from HobbyKing:

BSR Racing BZ-444 1/10 4WD Racing Buggy (RTR) is the first race ready 1/10 4WD buggy from Basher’s race brand BSR. This is the perfect introduction to off-road racing or just to head to your local track for a bash with your friends.

The BZ-444 comes with a race proven tub chassis with centrally placed motor mount for excellent weight distribution and a suspension layout designed to be tuned to the track you want to use it on, from indoor carpet and clay to rough and dusty outdoor tracks. It is also built tough for the most demanding conditions so you won’t be missing races because you misjudged a jump.

The BZ-444 includes many features of a top end racing buggy such as front and rear ball diffs, oil filled adjustable shocks and quality, soft compound tyres. Inevitably you will want to tune the buggy even further so there is a huge list of spare and upgrade parts that will allow you to customise to suit your style and conditions.

But we didn’t stop at just having a quality chassis, the BZ-444 RTR also comes with the super reliable Trackstar 80A Turbo Sensored brushless ESC and TrackStar 10.5T sensored brushless motor, both of these are ROAR approved so you should be able to turn up to most tracks in the world and enter a race. The 10.5T motor will give you enough power to even enter mod races. The other advantage of this set-up is that if you want to enter other motor classes you will only have to change the motor, unlike most RTR cars where you have to get a new esc along with a motor.

You also won’t be disappointed with the included HK-GT2E radio, it’s definitely one of the best RTR radios on the market.

The BZ-444 is the new standard for RTR 4WD buggies so grab yourself one and set the standard at your local track!
