Avid releases a tuning guide for their 12mm pistons, plus they have added two more 12mm pistons to their lineup that are compatible with Team Associated, TLR, and Kyosho big bore shocks. Check out the press release below for more info:

AVID is proud to announce our new piston tuning table. It is a 1 page reference for racers to print/save and keep in your toolbox, smart phone , setup notebook, or jammed inside your radio case. The goal of the piston table was to provide recommendation on what pistons/oil to use as a standard setup, and then to dictate which pistons you would change to for changes in grip, large jumps, and smooth or bumpy conditions. For example, a racer might change from the standard 2 x 1.6 hole setup to the 4 hole 1.5/1.1 setup when the track with larger jumps gets bumpy, or the car feels like it needs more grip.

Also new are 2 additional versions of the AV1030 series pistons, 2 hole 1.5mm and 2 hole 1.7mm flat.

Piston Features:

  • Fits 12mm shocks for Team Associated, TLR 22, and Kyosho (12mm bore, 3mm hole, 2.5mm thick)
  • Machined round with a tighter fit to bore of the shock body for less blow-by
  • Each package includes 4 pistons inside of a Doodad container printed with AVID logo.

AV1030-2×1.5-F – 12mm Piston, 2 x 1.5, Flat Associated, TLR, Kyosho – $16.00
AV1030-2×1.7-F – 12mm Piston, 2 x 1.7, Flat Associated, TLR, Kyosho – $16.00
