WDRA Summer Nats

WDRA Summer Nats

The WDRA is the premier dirt oval racing series for the Northeast with races in New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. The series is made up of ten stops with its seventh stop for the Summer Nationals at LA Speedway in Lake Ariel, PA. The Summer Nats could be considered the RC equivalent to the World of Outlaws Series finals because it serves as a double points race. Going into the Summer Nats with a points lead is an opportunity to open up your lead with just three races to go. For those in the top five in points, running well means substantial gains on the leader in the points and possibly pulling yourself into the top spot.

The race itself is comprised of three rounds of qualifying. Qualifying heats set the field for the B Main and back as well as a Dash race for the “A Main” racers. The Dash is a 2 minute race that sets the field for the A Main with one bump up spot from the B. High in the Pocono Mountains of PA, the Summer Nats kicked off for a two day race and the points lead in nearly all of five classes were still up for grabs.

This is just a little preview of the action from that weekend. Check out our full race coverage and results over at our Members Only site, https://www.rccaraction.com/members
