Latest race news from Taxxas:Anaheim, CA: Cool temperatures greeted fans at Angel stadium, but the action was white-hot as AMA Supercross returned for the third round of the 2010 series. In Lites action, all eyes were on Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Traxxas rider Jake Weimer, the back-to-back winner of Anaheim 1 and Round 2 in Phoenix. Few could question his domination after those performances, but any doubters surely became believers after Weimer won his heat virtually unchallenged. Teammate Josh Hansen won his heat as well, guaranteeing prime gate positions for the two Traxxas riders in the Main Event.

As the gate dropped, Josh Hansen catapulted his Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX™ 250F off the line to snare the Spike Holeshot Award, but Weimer proved unstoppable and quickly collected his teammate to take over the lead. From there, Weimer crushed the competition with an ever-widening gap on the field and a convincing third consecutive victory. Hansen also rode well, just missing the podium with fourth place. “I was a little bit late off the gate in the main, but got a good start and I had a really good drive,” recalled Weimer in the post-race interview. “Hansen rode a little bit wide and I was able to sneak up inside and came out first in the first lap. I just got my gap, and rode consistent from there.”

Jake was unabashed in his happiness with the victory, but maintained his perspective on winning the war, not just the battle. “It’s awesome. I am super happy and I could not ask for more. I feel like I am on the right track and setting myself up for the ultimate goal, which is to win the title. It is definitely not time to let my guard down. I need to stay focused, enjoy tonight, and wake up Monday morning hungry as ever to go get the fourth win, so that is the goal for now.”

Traxxas congratulates Jake Weimer and Josh Hansen on their excellent performances in Anaheim. Next stop, AT&T Park, San Francisco!
