Thunder Tiger Jackal Trophy Truck Update

Thunder Tiger Jackal Trophy Truck Update

A few months ago we showed you body on photos of Thunder Tiger’s prototype Jackal trophy truck and now we’re able to show you what’s going on under the hood. Some of the parts appear to be prototypes (note the rough surfaces), but it looks like the truck is going to have shaft driven 4WD and a multi-gear transmission with slipper clutch. Having the weight of the spare tire and battery tray over the rear tires should help settle the rear end and keep it in good contact with the ground. Long travel rear suspension, adjustable rear roll center, 3900Kv brushless motor and easy-access battery tray are feature highlights. This looks like a fun truck and we hope that Thunder Tiger has the production model done soon. We want to play!

From Thunder Tiger:

Jackal is a 1:10 scale truck engineering masterpiece. This chassis has been designed and engineered to be a true Trophy Truck.Thunder Tiger has put all thoughts in its design to provide customers great benefits and ease of use with easy tune ability. The realistic features make it a unique off-road basher vehicle. Capable of high speed off-road driving and handle massive jumps! The Jackal is built to pack a punch!

Beam Axle Design

The Jackal is equipped with solid axle which has an important advantage for off-road applications, as it provide better vehicle articulation and durability in a high load environment. This simplicity also makes it relatively easy to lift a vehicle.

Easy Accessible Battery Tray

To makes the rear side more stable while in acceleration, the Jackal’s battery tray is set in upper position which is near by the rear side of truck, also protected by the roll cage from the strike.

Adjustable Steel Turnbuckles

Hard and durable turnbuckles on the independent front suspension for added tuning.

Flex Front Bumper

The front side equipped the strength bumper which gives enough rigidity but still enough flex to take a solid impact.

4-linked Rear Suspension

The separated suspension is composite of a completely new 4-linked rear suspension. The 3 upper link positions to adjust the A/S which can add traction off the corners when you running the Jackal. The lower linkage can be flipped to change the roll center.
