CowRC’s Mousepad Mats are a line of cloth-covered work mats for either standalone use or to be paired alongside their magnetic catcher mats and parts trays. TESTING

Having a work mat to cover your work surface is great for keeping your work area tidy and protecting the surface beneath. Additionally, work mats are amazing for when you are using a less-than-perfect work surface, helping to protect you and your gear from splinters, dirt and grime. The CowRC Mousepad Mat is amazing for this exact task. I took the mat out recently for a day at the track, and I was glad I had it along with me. The table surfaces at this particular track are rough to say the least. They’re older plywood tables that sit in the sun all day, so it’s only natural that they show some age and wear, but I certainly wouldn’t want to work on them bare.

The CowRC Mousepad Mat did a perfect job of covering the worktable to provide a much cleaner and smoother working surface. Its cloth fabric feels extremely durable with a tight weave that is nice and smooth, so it doesn’t pill or snag easily. The material holds up well to dirt, grease and grime, and even seems to have a good resistance to chemicals. I was out at the track that day driving some nitro-powered vehicles and noticed that even the occasional small splash of nitro fuel had no effect on the mat, nor did my end-of-day cleaning spray. The rubber backing was just the right thickness to mask the rough table surface perfectly.

What’s even better is that the rubber is texturized so it doesn’t slip. Even when initially laying the mat out, without tools or cars placed on top, it stayed nicely in place and didn’t seem to want to budge. I don’t know the exact rubber material used but it seems almost like neoprene, akin to a soft mousepad (hence the name). Overall, both the fabric and rubber used for the mat make it super-easy to roll and pack up at the end of the day, which also makes it very easy to store. I had the privilege of testing the large 24” x 48” grayscale mat, and I can honestly say this will be my go-to work mat from here on out. It’s made well, it does a great job of covering the work surface, it packs up nicely, and it looks good too.
