Tebo TQ’s And Wins 3 Mod Classes At CRCRC Electric Midwest Championship

The 24th Annual CRCRC Electric Midwest Championships were held at The R/C Factory in Jeffersonville, Ohio. This would be the first year for event to be held in this new location. The facility was very big providing plenty of heated pits for everyone that attended. The track was very challenging consisting of very high speed sections along with technical jumps. This years event brought in over 380 entries around the country.

The race format consisted of 4 5-minute qualifiers on Saturday, taking each drivers 2 best points toward their overall qualifying order. Then Sunday would run triple A-Mains for all classes to decide this years champions.

In the 2wd Modified Buggy Class it was Kyosho’s Jared Tebo who would go onto TQ overall with his Team Orion powered Kyosho Ultima RB5-SP2.

A-Main #1: Tebo went on to lead from start to finish to take home the win in the first A-Main. Maifield finished in 2nd, with Cavalieri in 3rd.

A-Main #2: Tebo once again ran a perfect race never making a mistake to take the win and the 2wd Modified Buggy Championship. Maifield finished in 2nd, with Cavalieri in 3rd.

With Tebo’s win in A-Main #2 he would repeat as the CRCRC 2wd Modified Buggy Champion.

In the 2wd Modified Short Course Class it was Kyosho’s Jared Tebo who took the TQ honors with his Team Orion powered Kysoho Ultima SC-R hooked up with AKA Tires.

A-Main #1: Tebo then went on to win A-Main #1 by 4 seconds being the only driver to make it by for the extra lap. Maifield would finished 2nd, with Cavalieri in 3rd.

A-Main #2: Tebo and Cavalieri had a great battle the entire main. Cavalieri edged out Tebo by only .200 for the win. Maified would finish 3rd.

A-Main #3: The Championship would come down to the last A-Main. Tebo, Cavalieri, and Maifield all had a chance to win the overall. Tebo showed great poise and lead the final A-Main from wire to wire to secure the win. This would give Tebo the CRCRC 2wd Modified Short Course Championship and his 2nd title of the weekend. Cavalieri would finish 2nd in the main and overall with Maifield finishing 3rd in the last main and overall.

In the 4wd Modified Buggy Class it was once again Kyosho’s Jared Tebo who would TQ overall with his Team Orion powered Kyosho Lazer ZX5-FS2.

A-Main #1: Tebo went on to lead every lap of the first A-Main from start to finish to take the win. Cavalieri would finish 2nd, with Chad Due finishing 3rd.

A-Main #2: Tebo and Cavalieri would once again battle it out. Cavalieri would go onto win, with Dustin Evans finishing 2nd, and Tebo in 3rd.

A-Main #3: The 4wd Championship would come down to the last main between Tebo and Cavalieri. Tebo once again showed why he had the number 1 on his car by leading every lap in A-Main #3 and taking home the win. Maifield went on to finish up in 2nd, with Due in 3rd. Tebo took home the CRCRC 4wd Modified Buggy Championship, Cavalieri still would finish 2nd overall, and Maifield would edge out Due on the tie break for 3rd overall. By winning the 4wd Modified Buggy Championship, Tebo would go onto repeat as Champion and sweep all 3 Modified Classes he raced 2 years in a row!

Congrats also goes out to:

  • Kyosho America Team Manager Joe Pillars for just barely missing the 2wd Modified Buggy A-Main qualifying 11th overall.
  • Kyosho Factory Driver Jason Jakubczyk for finishing 3rd overall in the 2wd Modified Truck Class and just missing the 2wd Modified Buggy A-Main but going onto win the B.
  • Kyosho Factory Driver Shaun Dunlap for finishing 4th overall in the 2wd Modified Truck Class and finishing 10th overall in the 2wd Modified Buggy Class making both A-Mains he entered.
  • Kyosho Driver Andy DiBrino who traveled to CRCRC from Portland, OR to TQ and Win the Stock Truck Class with his Team Orion powered Kyosho RT5. Andy also finished up a great weekend by finishing 2nd overall in Stock Buggy and barely missed the A-Main in 2wd Modified Short Course qualifying 11th.
  • Kyosho Driver Brian Roeder for finishing 10th overall in the 2wd Modified Truck Class.
