Team Associated RC8.2e Rigged for Night Ops [READER’S RIDE]

Mike Dufort says it took him a year—and close to $6000—to upgrade every piece of his stock Team Associated RC8.2e to the best components he could find. The result is a wild creation he calls “Nightrage.” He installed a full set of LED lighting for nighttime operation, and a Samsung Gear VR 360 video camera pod on top to record the action. A Tekin Redline T8 Gen2 1/8-scale 1400kv competition brushless system runs on 6S Lipo through a Hobbywing Max8 speed control. To keep all that power under control he installed a Futaba GYC440 gyro and a Savox 1270TG digital “Monster Torque” titanium gear high-voltage servo. Wheels are Motoworx Racing 3.8 scale 8-spoke pieces that Mike had custom anodized red and mounted with Pro-Line Road Rage 3.8 tires. The wing is a hand-made solid carbon-fiber piece (not wrapped) made by Jerry Hellstrom of Finland.
