From Serpent:
Serpent introduces the updated 3.1 version of the Cobra GT. The Cobra GT is a very popular choice in this class with superb performance and being known as a very durable car too.

The Cobra GT is sensitive on the shock-angle and position both front and rear and that have been fine-tuned even more. The new version aluminium shock extensions in the front and rear are a bit longer than before, as testing showed a good increase in handling.

The brake of the new Serpent SRX8 1/8 buggy bolts straight into the Cobra GT and is more effective with its steel disk brakes and preglued brake pads. A smoother brake feel, less fading if any and easy to maintain.

The Cobra GT 3.1 version gets the most popular shock springs as standard, and same goes for the ball raced anti-roll bars and shock and diff oils.

Main new features:

  • SRX8 brake-set and aluminium centre brackets
  • New Carbon shock towers in 4.5mm enabling new front and rear geometry

Explaining the main features

New aluminium shock absorber risers front and rear

The durable machined aluminium shock-risers front and rear allow for a more progressive angle of the shock absorber creating more overall grip and more predictable cornering.

New lower shock towers front and rear

The new 4.5mm lower carbon fibre shock towers also accommodate the new shock angles, with a choice of 5 holes for further fine-tuning, and 9 choices for roll enter position on the camber-bracket/tower.

New type hard coated aluminium shock mounts

Short type front and long type rear. Easier for (re) assembly.

New SRX8 brake system

The brake system comes from the SRX8 buggy and features steel brake disk and brake pads with glued on high friction brake material

XLi superlight 2-speed gearbox

The XLi gearbox comes from the Viper 977-Evo kit and is well proven for performance and durability, as well as ease of setting. The lower inertia will make you accelerate faster.

Aluminium middle bearing blocks

To hold the 2-speed gearbox/shaft as well as the SRX8 double brake system superlight aluminium bearing blocks are designed.

Front front and front rear aluminium suspension holders

These are designed to change the pivot pin angle, so the lower wishbones will be straighter, which geometry suits on road racing better.

Aluminum c-hubs in 6 degree version and aluminium steering blocks 0-degr.

The new aluminium c-hubs are needed to make maximum use of the new pivot pin / wishbone angle. CNC-machined from 7075 T6 aluminium, laser engraved and black anodised units. The steering blocks are also 7075 T6 units, very durable and combined with the 6 degree c-hubs the optimal geometry for most tracks.

Aluminium, uprights for new rear geometry

To allow better onroad geometry we designed these new CNC machined aluminium uprights, black anodised and laser engraved.
