Tebo and Bradley get it done at The Dirt

Team Associated/Kyosho/O’Donnell ace Jared “The Kid” Tebo (who just turned 18 this past weekend) won both the 1/10-scale and 1/8-scale pro classes at The Dirt Nitro Challenge.
In the Unlimited Monster Truck class, Mugen’s Chad Bradley TQ’d and won with the new Mugen MBX5-T truggy, which will be offered as a conversion kit for the MBX-5 buggy.
Tebo was top qualifier in 1/10-scale and managed to break away from an early battle with Team Trinity/Losi’s Adam Drake. In 1/8-scale, Jared put in a valiant effort late in the race to pass Kyosho/Peak driver Mark Pavidis with just a couple minutes remaining in the race. Eight-scale TQ Ryan Cavalieri passed Pavidis with seconds remaining to grab second.
While Bradley TQ’d and won the monster truck class, Matt Gosch put in a strong showing taking second place earning him a100% Pro-Line ride—and did we mention he’s just 13 years old?. Mugen’s Jason Ashton (also running an MBX5-T) was on fire, and bumped all the way up from the G-main (the lowest Main for monster trucks) to take home third place. Ashton even led part of the A-main despite being 12th on the grid for the start of the race.

Ryan flyin’ at Losi Champs

The 4th annual Team Losi Off-Road Championships was hosted by the Minnreg RC Club in Tampa FL, but it may may as well have been called Cavalieriville. Ryan dominated the event by TQing and winning all the Factory electric classes with his Trinity-powered Associated rides. Cavalieri's Sirio-equipped RC10GT was the truck to beat in the Factory Nitro Truck class, but he gave up the win to Team Losi's Adam Drake after Adam exploited his Triple-XNT’s quick-change wheel feature to move into the lead with fresh rubber as Ryan’s GT slowed due to worn tires.

Corally Wins ROAR Carpet On-Road Nats

Team Corally's Chris Tosolini gives a victory salute (and a great plug for Airtronics) after winning Touring Mod at the ROAR Carpet Nats, held at West Haven CT's Hobby Chamber. The event also saw victories for Team Trinity/XRAY's Mike Dumas in 19T Touring, and the first-ever win for a brushless system at a ROAR nats as Team Associated's Jon Orr won 1/12 Mod using an LRP Sphere and Reedy NEO-1 brushless combo.

Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield took home the Factory Modified win with his T4 with a pair of second-place finishes and one win in the triple A-Mains. Ryan Cavalieri nabbed second, and Jared Tebo took third, all wheeling Factory Team T4’s. Tebo won the Factory Gas Truck class to no one’s surprise, but he did have to work a little harder than normal to pass teammates Ryan Cavalieri and Maifield for the win. Cavalieri TQ’d gas truck, but unfortunately was out of the race with mechanical trouble for the final 20 minutes of the 45-minute A-Main. Results! ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nats

The ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals just wrapped at Gears R/C in Harlingen, Texas. This was the first time monster trucks were officially recognized as a class. Jay Halsey took top honors in the monster truck class driving a prototype Jammin' Truggy powered by a big block.
Jason Ashton pulled out to an early lead driving a Mugen MSR X5-T, but suffered mechanical troubles that would take him out of contention.
Jared Tebo took the top spot in the 1/10 stadium truck class driving a Team Associated RC10GT. Word has it that Tebo's truck was fitted with custom quick-change rear hubs, which allowed a rear tire change half way through the race. Tebo reportedly had a large lead, lost a critical screw in the suspension, was brought into the pits to have a new screw installed, and still made it back on the track in first place.
Team Kyosho's Mark Pavidis and Trinity/Kyosho driver Ryan Cavalieri battled for almost the entire 1/8 buggy A-main. With just two laps to go, Cavalieri jumped over the top of Pavidis for the lead and the eventual win.
