Latest race news from Reedy:

The 2010 R/C Bike World Championships was hosted by the RACG-Club in Grenoble, France. Even though the event was held August 4-8, unpredictable Alps weather meant that riders had to deal with on-and-off rain and cooler temperatures during practice and qualifying.

After four rounds of qualifying in the premier Superbike class, Reedy factory rider Gianni Zonzini qualified with the fastest time overall. However, due to the unique Bike Worlds format, his number one qualifying position did not necessarily mean he had secured the pole position for the final. The top 20 riders were placed into two semi-finals with the top 5 riders from each transferring to the World Championship Final.

Bad luck in the second leg of his semi-final prevented Gianni from maintaining his number one grid position for the final. However, his finishes were good enough to secure position three on the grid.

The World Championship Final would be comprised of three legs. Unfortunately, Zonzini was unable to keep pace with the leaders, which ultimately resulted in a 4th place finish for the rider from San Marino. Fellow Reedy factory rider Eduard Winter from Austria finished in a very respectable 9th position in the Superbike class while Germany’s Thomas Feilner finished in 7th position in the Stockbike category.

Congratulations Reedy riders!
