Further Description/Back Story | I’ve been buying, building and customizing hobby grade RC vehicles for over 30 years. I’ve also been building and racing full size (1:1 scale) entry level drag cars since I was a teenager. My grandfather, my father, a few of my uncles and myself were all mechanics. And even one of my sons is a mechanic now. So, naturally we’ve all been involved in auto racing, but I am brand new to the RC drag race scene. I’m a Ford and Mustang guy myself and I currently own two Fox body Mustangs. So, It was pre-ordained that all of my RC vehicles would have to include a Mustang or other Ford body. Ha, ha, ha… I’ve already built another Fox body drag car based on an R.J. Speed pro mod chassis, that I hope to share very soon. For this current project, I converted the Jato chassis over to electric power with a home fabricated motor mount and decreased the tire track widths by swapping in new Bandit front and rear control arms and turnbuckles. I also custom fabricated aluminum fuel cell/ receiver box, custom fabricated body mounts and impact front bumper. I just want to thank all of you at RC Car Action for giving me this opportunity to share another one of my fun projects. |
