After a couple of years of lockdowns, it was nice finally getting out to have some fun with fellow radio control enthusiasts. The 2022 edition of Radio Control Expo, better known as RCX, brought a weekend of nonstop action and excitement to the Fairplex in Pomona, California, March 26 and 27.
The event brought together thousands of spectators and RC enthusiasts for a full weekend of fun that showcased the best in new products, Try-Me driving, product discounts and giveaways, full-size show cars, drag racing, planes, helicopters, FPV drones, rock crawlers and more.
Plenty of RC companies were present to show off their latest releases and giving hands-on demos of their most popular vehicles and gear. Aside from all the RC action going on, RCX attendees were also able to experience the California Power Sports and Outdoor Adventure Expos, also situated at the Fairplex that weekend.
Those who attended the all-encompassing show got to sit in 1:1-scale off-road vehicles, examine dedicated camping trailers, check out the latest side-by-sides, and were even treated to an RC air show just outside the event’s two packed halls. If that wasn’t enough, showgoers were also treated to a movie and TV show vehicle display that included Herbie the Love Bug, K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, a Jurassic Park Explorer and more.
Plenty of custom RC vehicles were on display including this Redcat lowrider that was customized by RC Patina Guy.

Castle Creations’ 25th anniversary display.
RCX was packed full of spectators and vendors all weekend long.
Movie, TV and real off road racers all mixed on the show’s outdoor display grounds.
Horizon Hobby’s brands were all represented.
It wasn’t all wheels, RCX had plenty of wings too. The NASA booth was a big hit with the RCX crowd.

Mission Models showed off their extensive line of paints as well as this awesome RC body painted by Vivian Grobler of SRC Sideways RC.
Nitro was well represented and TNR Fuels was on hand to show off their latest products.
Horizon Hobby brought an extensive line up of RC vehicles for enthusiasts to get up close with.
Reefs RC displayed with latest servos and also dished out some great show specials.
RC4WD had plenty of rigs on display.
RC Patina Guy’s customized Recat SixtyFour was displayed in the RCCA booth.
Axial’s booth had a try-me-track filled with fun crawler obstacles.
RCX attendees got to check out Lasrnut Racing’s real desert racers.
