RC4WD TF2 Blackfoot Hybrid [READER’S RIDE]

RC4WD TF2 Blackfoot Hybrid [READER’S RIDE]

Jonathan Mathews’ TF2 is deceptively subtle, but the closer you look the cooler this truck gets. To begin with, there’s the Tamiya Blackfoot body. Look closer and you’ll see that this is an extended cab Ford — something Tamiya never made. So Jonathan and his buddy Jim (who runs a body shop) spliced together two Blackfoot shells, then sprayed the whole thing with automotive paint — including five coats of clear to give it that shine! The chassis is an RC4WD TF2 that’s been upgraded with RC4WD’s shooter shackles and Tboxes and Boom Racing’s super scale axles. The RC4WD metal bumper was made for a Toyota so Jonathan chopped it and tucked it into the front grille. He also added a set of RC4WD metal sliders. It rolls on RPP Gearhead 1.55 Shooter wheels with painted centers. Power comes from a Tekin 30T hand-wound motor with an AE5 controller through the stock RC4WD 2-speed transmission.
