RC4WD 4Runner Body [First Look]

RC4WD announced their latest injection molded body kit today and it’s a 1985 Toyota 4Runner. The body kit is by far the most detailed one to come out of the RC4WD garage and is sure to be a hit with the scale crowd. RC4WD has had Toyota based bodies in the past so it’s no surprised to see another one and it’s direct bolt on piece for the company’s Trailfinder 2 chassis but, it can fit other 11.3-inch wheelbase trucks if you get clever with some body mounts. We received an early sample and I’m going to open the box and tell you what this impressive body is all about.

All of the parts come well packed.

Here’s the main body and it’s an impressive piece. It’s an injection molded ABS plastic piece that’s full of crisp detail and will look great with some paint and a little detail work.

The body features opening doors, tailgate and hood and the cap is removable.

The body also features a complete interior. It includes front and rear seats, a roll bar, door panels, a dash and more.

The parts like the ABS side windows and windshield are crystal clear and well detailed.

Equally impressive is the chrome work. It’s perfect.

A sticker sheet is provided to give a little more detail to that 4Runner body.

RC4WD includes a pretty thick instruction manual to help you put the complex body together. It’s well done and the instructions are pretty clear.

I knew this injection molded 4Runner body from RC4WD was going to be a great piece but I was still blown away after opening the box. The detail on the parts is impressive and I really like that the doors, hood and tailgate open. I’m really looking forward to getting paint on this one and getting it mounted to my Trailfinder 2.
