Instead of IFMAR style qualifying the pro racers compete heads up. The top four from the round of heats advance to the main event. In each semi the top three and advance. And in the LCQ or last chance qualifier all of the remaining pros are grouped together for two final spots. It is so much more exciting to watch the pros compete heads up for short sprint races.

TORC events are packed with flag-to-flag fender banging as drivers push the limits over whoop and jump filled natural terrain racetracks. In RC, world championships take place every other year and are run under the rules of IFMAR (International Federation of Model Auto Racing). There are currently six classes with world championships with three being decided each year. 2010 is a 1/8-scale Off-road World Championship year, which currently happens to be arguably the most coveted championship class.

In 1968 Norm Johnson created the Mint 400 Desert Race, which has become one of the most famous off-road races in history. The Mint sponsored this event from 1968 through the sale of the hotel and casino in late 1988. SNORE (Southern Nevada Off-Road Enthusiasts) has brought this race back. JConcepts was well represented once again at the 2011 Short Course Showdown Nationwide tour. Round 2 was held at the famous S&N’s Trackside Hobbies and R/C Raceway in Milwaukee, WI, where Scotty Ernst himself ran the entire show to perfection. JConcepts representatives Paul Wynn and Dave Duncan made the trip up to the event to support the complete line of short course products and partake in a little racing action.

The 2011 Nitro Challenge took place at The Nitro Pit track located in Wittmann Arizona. If your not sure what The Nitro Pit is, it\'s one of the largest off-road tracks in the entire USA. The racing field consisted of drivers from all over the USA as well as an international crowd with drivers hailing from the United Kingdom, Finland, Spain, and Sweden.
