Meet Superman. This unlimited class nitro puller is built by Zeek Heard of No Limit RC and (loosely!) based on HPI Savage parts. It sits on a 3/16-inch thick laser-cut aircraft aluminum chassis stretched to 48 inches long, and it weighs 33 pounds (40 with the dually tire setup, which also gives it a 32-inch track width!) You’ll notice a lot of laser and machine shop work throughout the truck. Power comes from two LRP .32 Nitro engines modified by Neal Smith of The Nitro Shop in Canada. Two JR 9000T high torque servos handle steering and throttle duties. Zeek tells us it took 7 months of blood, sweat, money and inspiration to complete, but it was worth it when this past September Superman pulled an astonishing 264.2 pounds—which may well be a world record for nitro-powered pullers. Zeek isn’t done either. He is sure with a few more tweaks 270 is within Superman’s reach. Zeek and his pals Bari Musawwir, Tom Dixon, and Justin Haugland founded No Limit RC in Orange County, Florida, and he is very active in helping organize the RC pulling scene. The crew documented Superman’s record-setting pull on video, and Zeek explains a little of what went into the build — check out the clips below!
