It seems our friends over at Losi have been busy lately in the large scale department with recent release of the 1/5 Desert Buggy Xl and now the newest addition to the 5IVE moniker, the 5IVE Mini WRC. This 1/5 Ready to Run is officially licensed after the John Cooper Works Mini Countryman that competes in WRC competition. Based on the same platform as the 5IVE-T and Desert Buggy, the Mini shares many of the same design features like the 5mm aluminum chassis, 4wd system with three viscous diffs, 800cc fuel tank and more but also includes a 29cc gasoline engine complete with a beefed up version of Losi’s R.O.S.S. (Remote Operated Start and Stop System) to fire up the Mini as well as revised suspension, new rally style wheels and tires and they’re new Surefire EFI System which is an electronic fuel injection system that eliminates carb needles and tuning. The Mini is also equipped with Spektrum’s AVC drive assist to keep the 1/5 Mini pointed int he right direction as is topped off with a highly detailed WRC Mini Countryman body like the one you see on the World Rally Championship.
- Hard to believe this related to the 5IVE-T, it just looks so scale!
- An aggresive front facia and flared wheel wells give it an extra look of WRC.
- No THAT’S a spoiler! Nothing but the best when you’re flying over dirt and gravel.. 1/5 or full-size.
- Underneath you can see the similarity to the rest of the 5IVE family. The Mini gets revised suspension and new wheels and tires to better suit its rally car charactoristics.
- Losi thought of every detail right down to mirrors.
- Tucked up under those wheel flares are a set of all new rally tires and wheels designed specifically for the Mini.
- The Mini WRC is powered by Losi’s ultra-reliable 29cc gas engine.
- Surefire EFI fuel injection is all new for the Mini WRC and brings RC into the 21st century in a big way
- 1/5 just got worlds easier thanks to a larger scale rendition of Losi’s R.O.S.S. start and stop system. Simply press a button to fire up and shut down the Mini’s engine.Good bye pull cords!
- All four corners of the Mini WRC get large bore shocks with 7mm shafts and threaded adjusters.
- A closwer look at Losi’s new 1/5 rally tires and wheels.
