Axial SCX10 Jeep FC Monster Truck [READER’S RIDE]

Axial SCX10 Jeep FC Monster Truck [READER’S RIDE]

Pix of Phillip Reibel’s Jeep Forward Control (FC) monster truck come all the way from his home in Tasmania, Australia. Phillip started with an Axial SCX10 kit, then threw a bunch of custom parts at it, mixing big rig and monster truck cues into this unique machine. Among the notable items is the custom-built cantilever suspension using Traxxas Revo rockers and shocks. It also has a lift kit to clear the Imex Dawg tires on Tamiya 2.2 chrome wheels. Phillip also custom made the roll cage and the vertical exhaust stacks. He made the fuel tanks out of shock oil bottles–now that’s what we call recycling! He beefed up the drive train with steel gears in the gearbox, added alloy knuckles and C-hubs, and made his own 4-link setup. The electronics include a Hitec 985 steering servo, a Hobbywing speed control, and a Trackstar 13.5 brushless motor running on 3S lipos.
