Hot Rod Hobbies 14th Annual Shootout: TQ Racing’s Andrew Smolnik TQs And Wins Expert 17.5 SC

In his first Short Course style race Andrew Smolnik came from second to win. In his second Short Course style race he TQ’d the class and won overall at the famous Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout.

Andrew’s Viper powered TQ Racing SX10 SC dominated the Expert 17.5 SC qualifying to take the top spot on the starting grid and never looked back. Saying “my ear to ear grin was in force each and every time I drove my TQ SC truck”, Andrew dominated the first two mains winning by over 4 seconds in each main and setting fastest lap in each event. Quite a performance in a class with a motor restriction to limit overall power and keep the competitors close together.

Andrew also finished 5th in the 2wd 17.5 Buggy class with his Viper power SX10 2w to cap off a great weekend.

The SX10 SC was also strong in the hands of Team Driver Johnny LoGiudice who used Tekin power to finished 8th in the A Main of the Pro 2 Modified SC class at the Shootout as well.
