Horizon Hobby and Troy Lee Designs Announce New Partnership

Hot on the heels of the news surrounding Losi’s new Desert Buggy XL, Horizon Hobby and Troy Lee Designs, two long-established icons within and beyond their respective industries, announced a unique and interesting multi-year partnership today. The collaborative effort between TLD and Horizon will not only lead to TLD-branded radio controlled vehicles, but a new gateway to the action sports world for Horizon Hobby.

It’s not the first time at an RC company, or even Horizon itself, has turned its attention toward the motocross market; in fact, Losi sponsored the Rockstar Suzuki team in AMA Supercross competition. The deal with Troy Lee Designs, however, will present Horizon Hobby’s RC portfolio to a whole world of action sports enthusiasts who are sure to find the distributing giant’s wide array of products, such as the Losi 5IVE-T short course truck, the perfect complement to the fast-paced lifestyle. Here’s the press release:

From Troy Lee Designs:

Troy Lee Designs and Horizon Hobby have joined forces on a multi-year partnership that will see the production of limited-edition TLD collaborative products.

Horizon Hobby, the manufacturer of the highly regarded Losi RC car line, will be out in full force at this year’s Red Bull A Day in the Dirt. They will have representatives onsite all three days displaying much of their product line (cars, boats, helicopters, and airplanes), interacting with the attendees and offering coordinated demos of the Losi 1/5-Scale 5IVE-T Off-Road Racing Truck.

“Troy Lee Designs is an iconic brand within the action sports industry and we are excited about this partnership. With the popularity of motocross and TLD’s presence in the sport, this partnership will assist us in expanding our efforts in increasing awareness of Horizon Hobby to new consumers, thus allowing us to focusing on a new customer base within the action sports world, “ said Andrew Ziegler, Brand Manager for Horizon Hobby, Inc.

“I’m super stoked on our new relationship with Horizon Hobby. They make awesome products and it’s cool that their office is located just down the street from our shop. It makes for some great collaborative interaction,” said Troy Lee.

Red Bull A Day in the Dirt 16, a three-day motorcycle event where the movie and moto industries come together over the Thanksgiving weekend, will be held at Glen Helen Raceway on November 29th – December 1st. If you’re attending, make sure to stop by the Horizon Hobby display and check out everything that they have going on. You can learn more about Red Bull A Day in the Dirt 16 at www.adayinthedirt.com.
