HAUL & CRAWL – Halloween Crawling With The Georgia Rock Zombies

HAUL & CRAWL – Halloween Crawling With The Georgia Rock Zombies

The best things in life start off small and grow both in number and strength. The Georgia Rock Zombies and their annual events are no different. What started as a handful of friends with a common hobby has continued to grow and flourish into an extended family of nearly 2,000 fellow RC fanatics. While membership predominately hails from the southeastern United States, their numbers also include friends who travel from all over the world.

Avid about fostering community and proud supporters of Operation 11 Charlie, GA Rock Zombie events are some of the most fun, genuine and exciting times you will find in this hobby. Under the title sponsorship of Reef’s RC, this October will mark the group’s fourth annual Halloween Haul & Crawl event at Cherokee Rock Village in Leesburg, Alabama.

A steadily growing number of vendors, sponsors, side events and attendees has turned this one-day affair into what has now become an epic two-day weekend RC extravaganza built for everyone.

This year’s Halloween Haul & Crawl will see the return of several events, as well as the inception of a few new ones. The Show & Shine, Tug-O-War, Zig Zag Drags, Scale Trails and Zombie night runs will all return this October. New additions to this year’s lineup will include a Sumo Table, Rock Racing and a 24th Scale Trail.

In addition to a growing list of events and sponsors, the number of on-site vendors also continues to grow and currently includes Reefs RC, Dixieland R/C, The RC Junkyard and Scale Rat (others pending). The weekend festivities also include raffles, trophies and a local food truck.
Boasting some of most beautiful views, best tiny trucking terrain and group camping you could ever ask for at an event, Cherokee Rock Village has no shortage of activities or amenities either. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the on-site camping, camp store, shaded and powered pavilion, picnic tables, heated rest rooms, hiking trails, rock climbing, mountain biking and children’s playground.

Despite all that the event and location have to offer, you may still be asking yourself, why should I make the trip? What makes this event special? The answer is simple and can be found in the event’s title. While not required, Halloween Haul & Crawl event coordinators encourage everyone to not only show up with their favorite rigs, but also a trailer to “haul” around while trail running. While optional, some of the weekend events such as the Zig Zag Drags, should you choose to participate, do require the use of a trailer.

Planning, building and “hauling” around a trailer for the weekend adds layers of fun, creativity and difficulty to the event that are unexpected, unmatched and unseen elsewhere. This added element turns what seems like your average local RC event into a unique, one-of-a-kind experience.

So, what are you waiting for? Wrench on the tiny trucks, create those trailers, put in those vacation requests, pack up the family and make the trip to Cherokee Rock Village, October 8th and 9th. The GA Rock Zombies and the 4th Annual Halloween Haul & Crawl are ready and waiting for you.
