GETTING MEDIEVAL – Three Days of RC Crawling and Camping at 2022 Pro-Line By The Fire

Celebrating its sixth year, the annual Pro-Line By The Fire (PLBTF) event perfectly catered to those enthusiasts who love detailed RC trucks, crawling technical scale trails, camping, and having a good time with family and friends.

Held at the Horsemen’s Center Park in Apple Valley, California, the arid desert atmosphere added to the excitement of the event. The picturesque venue is located near the foothills of Southern California’s San Bernardino National Forest and provides a great place for RC crawling and family-friendly camping.

A POPULAR EVENT

The Pro-Line-hosted RC crawler event is one of the premier crawling gatherings in the country. PLBTF initially began as a single-day occurrence whose attendance grew each year. When the RC crawler enthusiast packed festival switched to a two-day format a few years ago, things really took off. For its sixth year, the 2022 medieval-themed event was expanded to three days, which was fantastic news for diehard RC fans like us. We prepped our RV and headed out to enjoy multiple days of RC crawling and camping.

PLENTY TO SEE & DO

The mountains and desert surroundings are not only beautiful, but the natural rock formations provide some of the most challenging and technical crawler lines anywhere. Seasoned pros looked for and found plenty of hard-to-drive lines, while beginners got plenty of great pointers from experienced drivers on just how to conquer the natural obstacles. It was a crawler’s paradise.

In addition to the enjoyable mountain trails, there were plenty of RC activities down in the camping area, which included RC sumo wars, RC jousting and even a scale town to cruise through. The Pro-Line crew went above and beyond to make PLBTF an attraction for crawler enthusiasts by crawler enthusiasts, and it was apparent down to the smallest details. Speaking of details, the attending DJ even played music that matched the event’s medieval theme.

Located throughout the venue, proving grounds comprised of small but very challenging stops were present to test your rig’s driving abilities—as well as your own. PLBTF’s main plaza hosted even more to look at and interact with, including vendors and even full-size off-road racers and trucks. It was great to have so many experts in the vendor area on hand to answer product or technical questions.
Getting to attend Pro-Line By The Fire was a real treat for us RC crawler enthusiasts. It’s always great getting together with like-minded hobbyists and simply nerding out on what we love. Encouraging one another on the trail and giving props to those who built seriously awesome rigs were just a couple of the things we enjoyed the most. Pro-Line has created an all-inclusive event that we really love being at. Everywhere you looked, you saw nothing but smiles.
