Front spindles for my trophy truck project

Front spindles for my trophy truck project

I’ve had a few builds for the magazine keeping me from getting to my trophy truck build and my boy Ed from STL Customs has been busy as well so things are going a little slow on the build right now. Here I have the beginning stages of my front spindles. I designed them to look just like the spindles found on trophy trucks and short course truck. The carbon fiber brake discs that I had made will mount to them using several screws and spacers. The rest of the parts made so far were done on a CNC mill, these were machined by hand on a lathe. I was amazed at how quickly Ed was able to bang them out. Now that we have the basic shape done, they will be setup in the mill to have the shape fine tuned and to have the tapped holes done.

  1. looks good and keep on truckin’

  2. Kevin- Very cool CNC work…I see that you are into 1/8 scale nitro racing, I recently was given an 1/8 scale early 1980’s 4WD, shaft driven touring car that no one, and I mean NO ONE has been able to identify. It has never been used and is just a rolling chassis with NO identifying marks. It has an odd bit of engineering where the steering servo is concerned as it is mounted in FRONT off the front diff. Any chance you could help with an ID if I sent you a picture?? I was hoping to source the necessary parts to complete it if i can figure out who made it !
