Custom Mohave Crawler [READER’S RIDE]

Custom Mohave Crawler [READER’S RIDE]

Scott Oney tells us the idea with this project was to build up a Class 1 scale truck on a set of Losi Comp Crawler axles so that he wouldn’t need a speed control with a drag brake. He chose an Axial Dingo chassis, then had to figure out how to mount his RC4WD Mojave II body. He settled on a rear-hinge setup, with magnets securing the front end. Because the Mojave has a drop bed he had to shorten the rear shocks and fabricate his own hoops. A Losi Night Crawler supplied the transmission while Axial supplied the aluminum links and shocks. The front bumper is off an Axial Rubicon, with an RC4WD 9.5i winch, light kit and hitch. There’s a Pro-Line bed box and the power system is comprised of a Dynamite 60A controller and an HPI 27t motor.
