Team Associated reeled in the big one this weekend at the Pro-line Nitro Maxx Challenge in Banning, Ca with Ryan Cavalieri scoring the RC8’s first big win. Cavalieri was tailgating Losi’s Adam Drake for the first half of the 1/8-scale buggy A-main and took over the lead when Drake’s car flamed out. Cavalieri held on to the lead and crossed the line first to bring home this important win for the A-Team. Second place went to Kyosho’s Cody King and 3rd went to Jammin’s Chad Bradley.
In truggy, Losi’s Billy Fisher took home the victory with his 8ight T, which looked dialed all weekend. Along side Fisher was his team mate Philip Atondo who took home 2nd and Jammin’s Chad Bradley finished 3rd.
Gas truck was dominated by none other than “The Drake” himself for the entire race leaving little or no room for the two Ryan’s (Cavalieri and Maifield) to move in and steal the show. The rough track proved to be an immense challenge for the 1/10 gas trucks and they were tosses around like rag dolls.
Tom Roberts won the Monster Truck class by a huge 2-lap margin over second place Mike Bataille who also wheeled a Revo and 3rd place went to Losi’s Billy Laster.
