Axial Yeti with B.J. Baldwin’s Trophy Truck colors [READER’S RIDES]

Karel de Koning’s Axial Yeti XL comes to us all the way from The Netherlands, but it was inspired by B.J. Baldwin’s Monster Energy-sponsored Trophy Truck, and most of the upgrades follow that theme—starting with the racing livery. He painted the wheels Monster electric green to match, and while he was at it added simulated valve stems and other realistic touches. He cut out the air openings in the body to make them functional, and filled them with green mesh. The shock reservoirs are oversized and painted green as well. He also installed a cut-down spare tire on the rear bodywork and installed lights front and rear. There are green anodized aluminum skidplates, steering rods and suspension links to fit with the Monster theme. The interior is perhaps the most impressive, with 20 lights rigged up from optical fiber on the various controls and the LCD instrument panel. The finished product looks like it could have come from the factory this way.
