This 1/5 Scale, WOODEN Escort Rally Looks SO REAL [VIDEO]

We’ve seen countless RC builds that are realistic when it comes to just sitting pretty. Looking dynamically realistic–as in, reacting and moving like the real thing–is something much more rare. Master builder Headquake has done just that with his Mk1 Escort. The scratch-built 1/5 scale (!) car is impressive enough standing still, but under power it looks absolutely real in the way it roosts, rolls and recoils through turns, even the way it crashes. Take away the audible electric-motor whirring, and you’d swear this clip was actual mid-70s rally action.

Bravo, sir. maxresdefault

Says Headquake: Had the heavy old 1:5 scale wooden mk1 Escort rally car out on the track for the first time this year. Perfect conditions for it to properly slide when the dirt is hard, dry and dusty like this. *Facts- Hand carved wooden body on a stretched traxxas mk1 Slayer chassis with very limited suspension, Mamba monster esc and 2200 motor, all steel gears with locked trans and rear diff, running RWD with hard compound proline street tires with extra stiff foams
