The 7th annual Toys for Tots race was held last weekend at Palm Desert R/C Raceway in Palm Desert, California. A bit over 130 entries were tallied for the 1-day charity race. Has been one of my favorite races for the last couple years. Its for a great cause and is always a very fun atmosphere. Anytime we have a chance to give back to the community through r/c is always great in my book. Local boy scouts were on hand to present the colors in a pre-race ceremony along with some local marines whom also collected the donated toys. At the end of the day there were five 55-gallon barrels filled with toys and around $1200 raised through a raffle.

PDRCR
PDRCR has recently added some new dirt to their local terrain. The track was awesome! The layout was very technical but had great flow and fun to race on. The new dirt had good traction and best of all, minimal tire wear.

Mark and Ryan Pavidis

AKA’s Mark Pavidis and Kyosho’s Cody King were in attendance to do some battle in the professional classes. Pavidis was unstoppable in nitro truggy. He easily tq’ed and walked away with the win by 2 laps in the 25-minute main. King returned the favor in nitro buggy. He drove consistently in the very rough conditions of the main and came out on top.
