We are back at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California for the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions. Today is just practice, but already things are heating up. Part of practice is to use the time for breaking in tires and putting a groove of traction down on the track. This may seem a bit odd, but it is necessary since the Reedy Race has very strict rules on how the tires can be treated. Like in years past, a spec tire is used with a designated area for a supplied control tire additive. These rules give everyone an even playing field and prevent the event from turning in to a tire war. With the first rounds of racing looming merely a day away, it is critical to make last minute changes and find the right line.
