2015 Pro-Line Surf City Classic: Things Are Under Way

2015 Pro-Line Surf City Classic: Things Are Under Way

We are at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California for the 2015 Pro-Line Surf City Classic and qualifying has started for this two-day event. Known for setting the standards for indoor clay tracks, the event is already showing great traction with “ghost pins” being used by all involved. That’s making everyone happy and contributing to close racing without the need for slick tires and wild set-ups. Yep, there is serious racing going, but a light atmosphere since the event has limited entries making for relatively short days for the lucky. I use chosen few since entries sold out in record time- one day to be exact. That’s how much people want to race at this event. The track is also living up to OCRC’s reputation for providing a challenging layout with enough features to test the best, but still has flow and speed for fun driving and optional racing lines. Each section has it’s own characteristic, but the triple that angles toward the driver’s stand in the center is contributing to a lot of carnage and slow lap times as drivers white-knuckle it through.

Like always, putting in a couple of clean qualifiers is necessary in order for drivers to position themselves high up in the mains with three qualifiers scheduled for Saturday and a final one along with mains on Sunday. Fortunately, RC Car Action is here and we’ll be showing you all the action and inside stories behind this great event. Stay tuned.
