Latest from Reedy:
What started out many years ago as Mike Reedy’s vision to showcase the top drivers in the world in a format unlike any other ever used in R/C racing has grown to be one of the most anticipated and prestigious R/C races anywhere in the world.
Reedy and Team Associated are proud to announce that the 2010 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions will be held at Nor-Cal Hobbies in Union City, CA. Commonly referred to as “The Race Place,” Nor-Cal Hobbies’ sprawling facility features a world-class on-road track in addition to their off-road, dirt oval, and carpet tracks.
Experienced owners Eric Vasutin and Kevin Jelich as well as their hand-selected staff understand how a premier R/C event should be managed. Plus, the location could not be better suited to hold an international event. In addition to three major international airports within 25 miles of the track, the city of San Francisco is just 25 miles away.
Nor-Cal Hobbies is fortunate to have four hotels within two miles of the track. Union Landing, a shopping center the size of a small city, features a 25-theater cinema, two hotels, and every major restaurant franchise including, but not limited to, TGI Fridays, Applebee’s, IHOP, Chili’s, and a dozen more. Yes, there is a Starbucks!
The format and schedule for the event remains similar to that of years past:
Thursday, May 27 4 Rounds Of Practice By Heat
Friday, May 28 4 Rounds Of Practice By Heat
Saturday, May 29 3 Rounds Of Qualifying
Sunday, May 30 1 Round Of Qualifying, Triple A-Mains
Modified, 13.5, and 17.5 classes will be offered this year in addition to an Invitational class featuring the world’s best drivers in a series of head-to-head races to determine the champion.
