LRP Electrics recently released its newest and greatest brushless motors for 1/10-scale applications called the Vector X-12 series. Many features of this motor make it a clear winner, and the motor to get right now. Let’s look at some of the features.

The motor is fully rebuildable and can be taken apart by removing only four screws for maintenance. The motor can is made of high-quality 7075 T6 grade aluminum and was designed to promote airflow through the motor. Many other components are beefed up, including the motor shaft and new sintered 12.5mm magnets. The motors contain the LRP PreciSensor system, which results in accurate sensor position for maximum control at any throttle speed. All these features and many more make an unbeatable sensored brushless motor.

I tested the motor in a 2WD buggy I race regularly at a local indoor track. Usually, I spring for higher-turn motors, but I wanted to give this motor the proper test. Immediately I was impressed with the low-speed throttle response. I was able to drive the buggy on the edge of spinning out due to the extra control I felt. After a good 15-minute practice session, the motor was barely even warm. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the Associated LRP Vector X-12 series of motors and look forward to racing with them soon.
