Monday morning and the dust has settled at the 16th annual Dirt Nitro Challenge held in Goodyear, Arizona. With epic battles throughout the weekend on each of the three Nitro Challenge tracks (1/5, 1/8, 1/10) some drivers came home with glory and the rest in defeat. The prized podiums as always came from the big classes of the weekend; pro nitro buggy and truggy. Unfortunately, for each of the TQs (Kyosho’s Jared Tebo- Truggy, HB/HPI’s’ Ty Tessmann- Buggy) the TQ curse took effect for both as they were unable to take the prized wins. With the favored to win opening the door, the rest of the 14 A-Main drivers were obliged to take advantage and claim themselves a Nitro Challenge win. In the Truggy class it would be newly signed HB/HPI driver David Ronnefalk of Sweden snatching the win from returning champ and teammate Ty Tessmann and in the Buggy class it would be TLR’s new front runner and recently crowned Reedy Race Champion Ryan Maifield.
