SpeedMerchant Linear Tweak Spring Conversion for all Link Cars and Rev .6 teaser

New from Team SpeedMerchant:

Tweak Spring Conversion

SpeedMerchant is proud to announce the release of our Linear Tweak Spring Conversions, Part #5065.

After months of testing, moving from the Rev.5 to the new Rev.6, we’ve found that the lighter & quicker Single Cell Lipo cars perform much better with Linear Side (Tweak) Springs compared to the standard ‘Progressive’ side springs we’ve run for years.

The Linear Tweak Springs tend to smooth the cars out, and generally just make it easier to drive, without a loss of steering or chassis response.

Testing culminated with Donny Lia’s TQ run at the 2010 SnowBird Nationals using his Rev.6 with our .018(Soft) Linear Tweak Springs.

We would like to thank Donny, Mark Smyka, & Kenny Lambert for their outstanding ‘back to back’ testing of our Progressive vs. Linear spring sets. It may not seem like a lot of work, but we spent countless hours of track time & phone time with the ‘Spring Guy’ to get the ‘feel’ of these springs just right for you. Just like our Progressive Springs, the new Linear Springs are made of the highest quality High Carbon Spring Steel and held to the tightest production standards. We don’t paint our springs, they are designated by wire size just like front suspension springs.

The #5065 Linear Tweak Spring Conversion comes with 2 Tweak Screws/Linear Carriers, .018(Soft), .020(Medium), and .022(Firm) Linear Side Springs.

The Conversion will basically work with all of the current Link Cars, inboard or ‘over the link end’ types. A Team Associated 12R5 is pictured to the right.

Just remove your current Tweak Screws, then using a 1/8 inch drill bit, re-drill the holes in your tweak plate to accept the larger Tweak Screws, thread the new screws in, glue on the spring carriers, snap on your new Linear Springs, and you’re ready to race.

The Conversions are available now at the on-line store. Click HERE to see them.
