Behind the Scenes of The Radio Control Show

Behind the Scenes of The Radio Control Show

*UPDATE*

110 episodes…wow. It’s been a lot of fun putting together The Radio Control Show. As some of you may know, the original show first aired on November 4th, 2008 with host Chris Chianelli. Chris was one of Radio Control Car Action magazine’s original editors and prior to doing our show, hosted Radio Control Hobbies on the DIY network. The Radio Control Show, in its current format, was introduced on May 8, 2009 with host Hope McCall, joined shortly after with co-host Kevin Hetmanski, and quickly gained a dedicated weekly YouTube audience.

Initially, the show was a 3 man operation but has since grown into a collaborated effort between departments. As you’ll see in these behind the scenes videos, the show starts with the editors. Kevin and Gerry gather news and information every week and pass it along to Kate who formulates a script. I (Joe) then load the script into a teleprompter software, film and direct the episode with Kevin and Hope, and take the footage on a magical journey through Final Cut Pro and Apple Motion, mixing special effects and video to create what you watch here every week.

In addition to these behind the scenes video, I’ve also included one of the original episodes of The Radio Control Show.
