Latest race news from Reedy:

Jason Ruona piloted his Reedy LiPo-powered 1/8 Electric Buggy and 1/10 Modified Short Course Truck entries to victories at the 1st Annual Southern Nationals in West Monroe, Louisiana. A full field of 260 entrants converged upon the Ike Hamilton Convention Center to do battle on the smooth technical temporary circuit and go down in the record books as the inaugural champions.

Ruona, the man behind the JConcepts empire, not only won both classes, but bested his competition in qualifying to claim the pole position for the main events. The 1/8 Electric Buggy class was one of the most popular and competitive. Three drivers tied with an equal number of points, but Ruona’s faster combined time placed him in the number one spot. Modified Short Course qualifying was a much easier affair. Ruona swept all three rounds, making him the clear favorite heading into the main events.

The Modified Short Course main event was a single 10-minute race. With a Reedy #685 5000mAh 7.4V 40C+ LiPo battery on board, Jason sped away from the field with controlled power, excellent driving, and great traction. An early gap over second position would continue to increase and he was able to cruise to victory.

The 1/8 Electric main event was run over three 10-minute legs. Legs one and two saw Jason lead wire-to-wire in dominant fashion to secure the overall victory. With the championship now sewn up and his place on the top step of the podium secured, Jason could sit out the third leg and enjoy his Southern Nationals victory in style. Thankfully, a Reedy #720 5000mAh 14.8V 40C+ LiPo battery provided consistent performance from start to finish with enough power to clear all challenging obstacles.

World-class racers demand the confidence of powerful and predictable battery performance. Reedy LiPo power delivers once again!
